Before diving into sleep consulting, I spent over 10 years as a respiratory therapist, and I still work part-time in a hospital alongside my sleep consulting business. Oh, and did I mention we have four cats? Yeah, our house is never quiet!!
My journey into sleep consulting started in 2020, in those long, lonely hours of pacing the floor, holding my baby girl because that was the only way she’d sleep. I was barely functioning, running on fumes, and wondering if I’d ever feel like myself again. I was struggling with PPA and PPD and the sleep deprivation made everything so. much. worse.
A dear friend gently asked if I’d looked into sleep training when I was desperately begging her for advice. That sent me down a rabbit hole of research, books, courses, articles, anything I could get my hands on. But honestly?!! I was pretty nervous. I decided to try it anyway, and I’m so thankful I did because it CHANGED EVERYTHING!! My sweet girl started sleeping 11-12 hours a night (and waking HAPPY), and she’s been a rockstar sleeper ever since. So has my second-born, who is now two years old!!
But it wasn’t just about their sleep. I found the version of myself that I thought I’d lost in sleep deprivation. My marriage got stronger. I finally had the energy to enjoy my baby in a way that I was struggling with before because I was SO exhausted.
